The Alabama Crimson Tide suffered their first loss of the 2026 college football season on Saturday night, falling to the visiting Georgia Bulldogs at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The 20-17 final score was decided in the final minutes, with a controversial pass interference no-call going against the Crimson Tide. Georgia came out of Tuscaloosa unscathed, improving their unbeaten record to 6-0.
This was a crushing loss for Alabama, which had opened its 2026 campaign with five consecutive victories.
However, Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer wants to make sure his players aren't hung up on this loss as they prepare for this coming Saturday's highly-anticipated SEC matchup against the No. 14 Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville.
"I’ve told the team, you can’t let Georgia beat us twice," DeBoer told reporters on Monday.
Despite its loss to Georgia, Alabama still holds the No. 6 spot in the national rankings. DeBoer's team is still in great position to secure a College Football Playoff bid if they're able to bounce back win out through their regular-season schedule.

Tennessee's lone loss of the 2026 season came at the hands of the visiting Texas Longhorns, who were ranked No. 1 in the nation at the time. The Volunteers have since bounced back with wins over the Auburn Tigers and Arkansas Razorbacks.
Saturday's Alabama-Tennessee matchup will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET from Neyland Stadium.
