The 2026 Kentucky basketball season is nearly here, and the preseason officially kicks off tonight against Little Rock. It's Big Blue Nation's first chance to watch the new roster in real action after a successful Big Blue Madness event earlier in the month.
Coach Mark Pope's third season in charge is a big one. After a disappointing year on and off the court, he needs wins to get Wildcats fans behind him once again. To that end, he landed some big-time transfers including star Milan Momcilovic, the best shooter in the country last season.
This year's squad might be Pope's best yet. It's loaded with perimeter shooters, but also with players who can create off the dribble and get into the paint. Size is also not an issue. Malachi Moreno and Franck Kepnang are seven-footers who can control the middle, and rebound well. It's a balance team, with several guys who can lead the team on a given night.
