Zakaria Kariuki, better known as KK Mwenyewe, shot to national fame in 2022 when his TikTok and Facebook impersonations of then deputy president Rigathi Gachagua began circulating widely.
His sharp political satire resonated with Kenyans across the country, earning him a loyal following and a reputation as one of the most exciting young voices in digital comedy.
Beyond the laughs, KK was a computer science student at Kisii University who used his platform to reflect the everyday realities of ordinary Kenyans in a way that felt both clever and deeply relatable. He died in July 2025 at just 23 years old, cutting short a career that had barely begun.
Kafengo, a close friend of the late KK, made the journey to the grave on Monday, October 20, and shared a photo marking the national holiday with a heartfelt message.
"Today I celebrate my hero. Continue, RIP brother KK. Happy Mashujaa Day," he wrote alongside the image.
In the photo, Kafengo stands behind a rustic wooden fence at the grave site, dressed in a dark jacket over a black top. Red roses, white flowers, and a yellow bloom dot the surrounding greenery, lending the scene a quiet, dignified beauty.
The image of his flower-adorned grave drew warm and emotional responses from followers who had never quite let go of the grief.
