What to know: New York City-founded streetwear brand KITH is opening its first store in Vancouver at Oakridge Park this week. The boutique, located in the upscale shopping centre at 650 W 41st Ave., is slated to open to the public on Oct. 23.
To celebrate the new store, the brand revealed a collection of limited-edition pieces dedicated to all things Vancouver.
The centrepiece of the capsule release is a full-leather KITH & AVIREX for the Vancouver Grizzlies Jacket.

Tapping into the nostalgia of the professional basketball team, which played in the NBA from 1995 to 2001, the outerwear design features the recognizable Grizzlies hues and logo font, along with an oversized motif on the back. There’s even another small vintage logo of the bear paw gripping a basketball at the interior neck inside the luxe jacket design.
Priced at $1,825, it’s a piece for the true fan or collector. But the Grizzlies nods run throughout the collection, appearing on a T-shirt, hat and keychain.
The rest of the Kith Vancouver Commemorative Collection includes clothing and accessories that further commemorate the “latest flagship city,” according to the brand, including a wool knit zip-up sweater inspired by Cowichan designs, a quarter-zip sweater featuring a forested scene, a logo long-sleeve shirt and more. Many of the designs also feature an embroidered patch bearing the city’s very own flag.
The first KITH store to open in Western Canada, the new Oakridge Park location is the second outpost for the popular brand in Canada. The brand, which has been spotted on celebrities such as Justin Bieber and LeBron James, also operates a boutique in Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood.
