Md Shaker Hossain, joint convener of Magura municipality Juba Dal, was found dead with injuries to the back of his head at the Royal Bus Counter in Magura early Wednesday.
Shaker, who worked at the counter, was reportedly injured between 5:00am and 6:00am. He was bleeding from the back of his head. A doctor at Magura 250-bed Medical College Hospital later declared him dead.
On receiving the news, BNP Magura district convener Md Ali Ahmed, MP Monwar Hossain Khan, municipal president Kizil Khan, district Juba Dal president Advocate Ashikur Rahman Kallol, general secretary Firoz Ahmed and joint general secretary Syed Mahbub Ali Milton, among other party leaders and activists, rushed to the scene.
Magura Superintendent of Police Molla Azad Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police Md Khorshed Alam, Officer-in-Charge Md Mamun Hossain, and officials from the Detective Branch and District Special Branch visited the hospital and the bus counter.
The SP said a thorough investigation would be conducted to uncover the circumstances surrounding the death and take appropriate action. #EK
