As the nation prepares to celebrate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2026 and Bharat Parv 2026 at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat, Tripura is set to showcase its rich indigenous cultural heritage on the national stage, with 80 artists from the state's Mog community participating in the grand cultural programme.
The 80-member team from Sangrrain Dance Academy will represent Tripura at the national-level celebration. The troupe is being led by Raju Mog, recipient of the prestigious Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar.
According to details shared by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan at a press conference in New Delhi on October 21, the main Rashtriya Ekta Diwas programme will be held on October 31 in front of the Statue of Unity, beginning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The evening programme will feature the Ekta Parade followed by a spectacular cultural presentation.
This year's cultural programme is envisioned as a major platform to showcase India's diverse cultural traditions, including folk and classical dance forms from different parts of the country. Around 5,000 artists are expected to participate in the cultural performances, reflecting the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’.
The central theme of the cultural programme is ‘Vande Mataram’, symbolising India's patriotism, unity and glorious cultural heritage.
The 80 artists of Sangrrain Dance Academy have been participating in rehearsals and final preparations in Ekta Nagar from October 22 to October 30. Their final performance is scheduled for October 31.
The participation of the troupe under the leadership of Raju Mog is being viewed as a significant opportunity to showcase Tripura's traditional Mog folk dance, costumes, music and cultural traditions before a national audience.
For the artists and the Mog community of Tripura, the opportunity to perform alongside cultural troupes from different states of the country is a matter of immense pride. Their participation is also expected to promote cultural exchange, preservation of traditional heritage and strengthen the bonds of national unity and integration.
