Women running businesses in some of Almeria’s smaller municipalities can apply for grants of up to €1,000 through a new Provincial Council programme. The sixth edition of the scheme is aimed at supporting female entrepreneurs, self-employed workers and professionals while helping businesses remain sustainable and innovative in communities with populations of up to 5,000.
Grants target businesses in smaller municipalities
Women running businesses in Almeria’s smaller municipalities can apply for grants of up to €1,000 under a new programme.
The sixth edition of the scheme is aimed at female entrepreneurs, self-employed workers and professionals carrying out their activity in municipalities across Almeria province with populations of up to 5,000.
Applicants must also be registered as residents of an eligible municipality throughout 2026 and remain registered with Social Security, or the appropriate professional mutual scheme, from January 1 until December 31.
Self-employed women among those eligible
Self-employed women registered under the Special Scheme for Self-Employed Workers or the Special Scheme for Sea Workers can apply.
Members of jointly owned businesses may also qualify when applying individually.
Professionals whose work requires membership of a professional association not incorporated into the standard self-employed scheme are also included, widening the range of women who may be able to benefit from the programme.
Provincial Council allocates €100,000 to scheme
The Provincial Council has allocated €100,000 to the programme, with individual grants capped at €1,000.
The funding is intended to help with everyday business costs while supporting sustainability and innovation among businesses operating in smaller communities.
By focusing on municipalities with no more than 5,000 residents, the programme provides financial assistance specifically for women maintaining professional and business activity in Almeria’s smaller towns and villages.
Applications remain open until November 13
Applications are open until November 13 and must be completed electronically through the Almeria Provincial Council website, dipalme.org.
Applicants should ensure they meet the residency and professional registration requirements before submitting their application for funding.
