Colombo, Oct 17 (Daily Mirror) - Owners of rooftop solar power systems have been requested to switch off their systems until further notice as Sri Lanka experiences an islandwide power outage.
The National System Operator confirmed that electricity supply had been interrupted across the country, adding that efforts were underway to restore power.
The request to switch off rooftop solar systems comes as authorities work to restore electricity following the widespread disruption.
Power interruptions were reported in several parts of the country before the National System Operator confirmed the islandwide outage.
The cause of the power interruption has not yet been officially confirmed, and no estimated time has been announced for the restoration of electricity.
