Multiple 911 callers, just before 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 19, reported that heavy smoke and flames were visible at a large commercial structure in the Osgoode ward, Ottawa Fire Services stated in a news release.
After arriving at the scene, in the 6000 block of Bank, crews confirmed a 75-foot by 30-foot coverall structure was on fire at the rear of a large commercial building, the fire service said.
At 7:27 p.m., additional resources were called to the scene, which was located in a part of the city without hydrants. Using a water shuffle system to help battle the flames, along with hazards that included propane tanks, crews managed to bring the fire under control by 7:45 p.m.
