The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will deliver its verdict at the end of November on Senegal’s appeal against the decision to strip the country of its Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title in favour of Morocco.
The Switzerland-based court announced the timeline on Monday, following Senegal’s challenge to the ruling by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) appeals panel.
In March, the panel overturned Senegal’s victory and awarded Morocco a 3-0 win after faulting the Senegalese team for walking off the pitch to protest a penalty awarded to the hosts.

The protest caused a 15-minute delay before play resumed. Morocco’s Brahim Diaz subsequently missed the penalty.
Senegal’s government has vowed to pursue every available legal avenue to recover the title, while accusing CAF of corruption.
The dispute will now be decided by CAS, whose ruling at the end of November is expected to determine the outcome of Senegal’s challenge to the decision that handed Morocco the AFCON crown.
