Sri Lanka has showcased investment opportunities in several key sectors, including energy, tourism, technology and manufacturing, at the 6th Selangor Investment & Industrial Park Expo (SPARK 2026) in Malaysia, as part of efforts to attract foreign direct investment (FDI).
According to the Sri Lankan High Commission in Malaysia, the event was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from October 14 to 17, bringing together more than 1,000 participants, including investors, business leaders and industry representatives.
The Sri Lankan High Commission, with the support of the Board of Investment (BOI), presented a portfolio of Ready-To-Invest (RTI) projects targeting Malaysian investors.
The investment opportunities covered energy, tourism and leisure, ICT and technology parks, manufacturing, agriculture, shipping and logistics, and real estate.
The inauguration of Sri Lanka’s presentation on October 14 was attended by the Crown Prince of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah, who joined Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Malaysia Dharshana M. Perera for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and traditional lighting of the oil lamp.
Sri Lanka also used the event to promote Expo 2027, aiming to raise awareness and encourage international participation.
The High Commission stated that Sri Lanka’s participation in SPARK 2026 was part of its broader economic diplomacy efforts to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation with Malaysia, attract foreign investment and establish new business partnerships. (Newswire)
