In community reactions on Reddit and under the announcement trailer on YouTube, many fans are celebrating Mole Mania as one of the best Game Boy games ever made. According to numerous users, its clever puzzles are still fun today, and the game could easily hold its own as a modern release. Some of that enthusiasm may also come from the fact that Shigeru Miyamoto served as a producer on the 1996 title, developed by Nintendo EAD and Pax Softnica. After all, he's the man behind iconic franchises such as Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda.
Two more titles are also worth a look
Alongside Mole Mania, the Game Boy library on Switch Online is expanding with the action game Avenging Spirit (1992) and the pinball game Revenge of the 'Gator (1989). On YouTube and Reddit, Avenging Spirit is being praised as an underrated hidden gem, with some players drawing comparisons to Super Mario Odyssey. Revenge of the 'Gator is also getting plenty of love. Some users even rank it among the best pinball games ever made – thanks in no small part to its music. All three titles are available now through Nintendo Switch Online on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 (currently $800 on Amazon). The subscription currently costs $3.99 per month or $19.99 per year. Nintendo announced the additions through both a trailer and an official statement.
