ISLAMABAD – The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested more than 200 foreign nationals during a crackdown on alleged digital fraud in Islamabad.
The NCCIA operation was conducted in several areas of the federal capital, including sectors I-9, F-8, F-10 and E-11 as the authorities intensified efforts to dismantle suspected cyber fraud networks.
The sources said that NCCIA teams initially carried out raids in Sector I-9 before expanding the operation to other parts of the city.
They said further raids were launched based on information obtained from the suspects taken into custody.
During the searches, the investigators seized electronic equipment, including laptops, advanced servers, computer hard drives and other digital devices believed to be linked to the alleged activities.
The agency is expected to examine the seized equipment to establish the nature and extent of the suspected fraud and identify any other individuals involved.
The NCCIA has yet to provide further details about the identities of the arrested foreign nationals, the alleged fraud schemes and the legal proceedings against the suspects.
