The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has mourned the death of former Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, describing his contributions to dialogue, confidence-building and national unity as worthy of commendation.
CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, in a statement issued on Monday expressed condolences to Uduaghan’s family, the Delta State Government and the people of the state, as well as others mourning his death.
Okoh said the former governor played a notable role during a period of heightened political tension in Nigeria, noting that his commitment to dialogue and the preservation of national unity remained commendable.
“His passing is a loss to his family and all who valued his contributions to public service and nation-building,” the CAN president said.
He prayed that God would comfort the bereaved family and all those mourning the former governor, while granting his soul eternal rest.
The Christian body also called for divine comfort for the family, the Delta State Government and the people of the state as they come to terms with the loss.
Uduaghan, a former governor of Delta State, was recognised by CAN for his role in public service and efforts to promote dialogue and unity during a period of political tension in the country.
