KUALA LUMPUR: The government supports efforts to strengthen Islamic scholarship, research and intellectual discourse to contribute to national governance and the well-being of the ummah, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
In a post on X, Anwar said this after receiving a courtesy call today from a delegation from Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin International Islamic University (UniSIRAJ), led by its board chairman, Perlis Mufti Datuk Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin.
"The meeting discussed the 2027-2030 Action Plan of the al-Qaradawi Institute of Thought (IPQ), which focuses on research, publications, talent development and strengthening scholarly networks," he said.
Anwar said the meeting also discussed a proposal to organise the International Seminar on al-Qaradawi Thought next year to broaden discourse on Islamic thought and contemporary national governance challenges.
