Namchi, October 16: In a significant healthcare achievement, the Department of Orthopaedics at District Hospital Namchi has successfully treated a 15-year-old girl suffering from untreated congenital talipes equinovarus (CTEV), commonly known as clubfoot.
The girl, a resident of Lower Sripadam under Yangang Constituency, was brought to the hospital with the assistance of the local Panchayat member. The initiative was undertaken under the supervision and guidance of Deputy Speaker and 15-Rangang-Yangang MLA Raj Kumari Thapa to ensure access to essential medical treatment.
Given the complexity of the longstanding deformity, the orthopaedic team adopted a planned surgical approach.
