In February, Hailey spoke with ELLE about how she feels about being considered a style icon. “I think my focus has always been about the confidence and freedom to play with different looks,” she said. “Ultimately, your own style comes through when you feel good in what you’re wearing.”
She opened up about her own inspirations, noting they “can come from anywhere in life—photography, travel, food, music, and film can all spark something for me. However, Kate Moss is always going to be iconic. She’s someone who truly stands the test of time and will always be a sartorial reference.”
That same month, she spoke to Interview magazine about how she and Justin approach red carpet dressing.
The outlet asked if the couple plans their outfits together. Hailey replied, “We both just really like expressing ourselves through our style and supporting each other’s individualism. When we go on a carpet together or something, nobody wants to clash or look crazy, and it’s not very often that we do that. Obviously, we’ll talk about what the other person’s wearing, but on a day-to-day basis I’m like, ‘I don’t give a shit what you want to wear. Are you comfortable? Do you feel good?’ That’s all that matters to me.”
