What began as a gloomy Saturday afternoon threatened by overcast skies and persistent drizzle quickly turned into a night of high-energy beats at Wanderers Sports Grounds for the Balcony Mix Africa festival.
The event featured five international acts led by festival creators South African twin duo Major League DJz.
Joining them on the decks were DJ Maphorisa, Sun-El Musician, Oscar Mbo, and Vigro Deep, supported by local deck masters Dreas, DJ Kandy, and DJ Erro.
On the operational side, organisers implemented a mandatory cashless system powered by Howler.
Festival-goers, however, voiced frustration over initial delays, citing lengthy queues to top up their Howler cards before standing in a second line to buy food and drinks.
Despite the logistical hiccups at the top-up stations and an unpredictable start weather-wise, Balcony Mix Africa once again demonstrated its stronghold on Windhoek’s event calendar.
Combining international headliners with top-tier local support, the festival delivered a memorable night of music and culture that kept partygoers on their feet until the final set.
