The Kansas City Chiefs returned from their bye week with a dominant performance, defeating the Los Angeles Chargers 22-6 to improve to a perfect 6-0.
The victory began with a moment of concern for Chiefs Kingdom. Tight end Travis Kelce briefly left the field with a right ankle issue during the team’s first offensive series.

After catching a screen pass and gaining a few yards, Kelce went down following a tackle by Chargers linebacker Daiyan Henley. The veteran showed pain as he got up and headed to the sideline, where Kansas City’s medical staff examined the area and applied a wrap to his ankle.
The concern extended to Taylor Swift, who was watching from a suite at Arrowhead Stadium after traveling from Los Angeles, where she had attended the Academy Museum Gala the night before. Fortunately for Kansas City, Kelce was able to return to the game and finished with four receptions on five targets for 53 yards.
Andy Reid reassures fans after Travis Kelce’s injury
After the game, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid addressed the status of his top tight end and indicated that while Kelce will be sore, the injury does not appear serious.
“Travis Kelce tweaked his ankle and played through it. Says he’ll be sore tomorrow, but he’ll be OK,” Reid said.
At 37 years old, Kelce continues to show that experience still matters. Through six games this season, he has 16 receptions for 246 yards and two touchdowns, remaining a key piece of the offense led by Patrick Mahomes.
After the win, Kelce entered the locker room without any obvious limp and with a wide smile — an image that brought relief to Kansas City fans.
In the rest of the injury report, Reid confirmed that offensive tackle Jaylon Moore suffered a concussion. Wide receiver Jalen Royals was also evaluated for a possible head injury but was cleared to return to the game. Kingsley Suamataia finished the contest fine after taking a shot to the calf.
