Bestway Group officially introduced Chinese automotive giant Geely Auto to the Pakistani market recently. The grand launch ceremony took place at Park View City in Islamabad. Key figures attended the event, including Bestway Group founder Sir M. Anwar Pervez and Chairman Lord Zameer Choudrey. Senior executives, industry leaders, and media members also joined the celebration. This major move marks the expansion of Bestway Group into the automotive sector. Furthermore, it brings Geely’s engineering expertise, technological innovation, and extensive vehicle range to local consumers.
Local Geely Auto Assembly & Future Bestway Group Operations

Bestway Automotive steps in as the sole authorized distributor for Geely in Pakistan. The company will strictly oversee the introduction and development of the brand. Additionally, Bestway will handle all vehicle sales and after-sales support. This partnership also strongly paves the way for local vehicle assembly. Bestway is actively preparing its facility in Karachi for this next critical phase of operations. Consequently, the company aims to put locally assembled Geely vehicles on the roads of Pakistan within the next few months.
Irfan Sheikh, Group Managing Director for Non-Banking Businesses at Bestway Group, emphasized the shared strengths of both organizations. He stated that Bestway brings decades of local investment experience, while Geely offers unmatched global automotive expertise.
Three New Models for Pakistan
Geely unveiled three specific models to cater to different mobility needs in the country. First, the Geely EX2 enters the market as a compact, fully electric hatchback designed specifically for urban driving. Next, the EX5 offers a compelling option as a fully electric SUV. Finally, the Starray EM-R brings range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) technology to the lineup. This advanced powertrain perfectly combines electric driving with the flexibility of an onboard petrol engine.

Therefore, these vehicles aim to deliver on Geely’s global brand philosophy, “See the World in Full”. This vision focuses heavily on inclusive mobility, creating better experiences, and enabling people to explore new horizons.
Driving Economic Growth
This launch builds on a massive economic foundation for Bestway. Over the last three years, Bestway Group has invested more than $350 million in Pakistan across sectors like cement manufacturing and banking. Haider Choudrey, Group CEO, noted that these investments created over 20,000 jobs and supported countless livelihoods. Now, the Geely partnership will open new doors for local manufacturing, employment generation, and skills development. It will also help build a significantly stronger automotive supply chain.
Meanwhile, Evin Ye, Vice President of GAIC and Managing Director of Geely Auto ASEAN, highlighted the historical significance of this move. He noted that Pakistan serves as Geely’s very first market in South Asia. He further stated that this partnership represents a long-term commitment to bringing safe, intelligent, and high-quality mobility to Pakistani families.
