MERCEDES-Benz Malaysia has invested RM2.2 million in a specialised service hub for the Mercedes-AMG One hypercar, making the nation the only location in Southeast Asia equipped to service the Formula 1-derived model.
Located at Hap Seng Star's Bukit Tinggi facility, the hub joins a limited global network serving owners of the road-legal hypercar, of which only 275 units were produced worldwide.
The facility will support owners across Southeast Asia, complementing an existing service hub in Japan.
It is equipped with specialised high-voltage tools, vehicle-specific diagnostic systems and controlled storage and working conditions to meet the model's technical requirements.
The Malaysia-based technicians have undergone specialised training and received Mercedes-AMG certification to carry out approved diagnostic, maintenance and servicing procedures.
The team will also coordinate directly with Mercedes-AMG specialists in Affalterbach, Germany for technical support.
The Mercedes-AMG One combines a 1.6-litre V6 turbocharged engine with four electric motors, producing a total system output of more than 1,063 horsepower.
Its hybrid powertrain draws directly on F1 technology, making servicing more complex than that of conventional performance cars.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia chief executive officer Martin Schulz said the facility builds on Malaysia's existing role in supporting the company's regional operations.
The hub's location also provides access to Mercedes-Benz Parts Logistics Asia Pacific's operations in Malaysia, which the company said would help streamline parts distribution and reduce delays in maintenance and repairs.
Other services include regional technical support, dedicated liaison officers for international customers and digital systems for diagnostic reporting and service updates.
The investment comes as Malaysia seeks to expand its high-value services sector under the 13th Malaysia Plan for 2026 to 2030.
The facility adds a specialised automotive service capability to the country's existing logistics and aftersales operations.
Hap Seng Star, which operates the Bukit Tinggi facility, will provide servicing for AMG One owners from Malaysia and other regional markets.
