The NBA season has only just begun, yet players are already making headlines for heated exchanges on the court. That was also the case in today’s Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors game, as Luka Doncic and Yaxel Lendeborg found themselves in a tense confrontation.
During the second quarter, Doncic and Lendeborg were spotted exchanging words after a play led to some frustration between the two players.
“What are you complaining about? You can’t fuc**** guard me,” Doncic told Lendeborg after being called for a foul.

However, Doncic took the exchange to another level when he drained a half-court shot and immediately pointed at the Warriors rookie. The Lakers star continued talking trash directly to Lendeborg’s face.
Doncic begins the new NBA season with plenty to prove as the face of the franchise following LeBron James’ move to the Philadelphia 76ers. With James no longer on the roster, Austin Reaves is expected to take on an even bigger role alongside Doncic. The two guards developed strong chemistry last season.
The Slovenian superstar has already shown that he can shoulder a significant offensive workload. Last season, he averaged 33.5 points, 7.7 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game. However, injuries restricted him to 64 appearances during the regular season.
Los Angeles finished the previous season with a 53-29 record before its playoff run ended in the Western Conference semifinals. The Lakers now aim to build on that performance and make a deeper postseason run.
Expectations for Doncic are high, especially after James’ departure left him as the franchise’s primary leader. Let’s see whether Doncic can lead the Lakers to a deeper playoff run and establish himself as the franchise’s leader in the post-LeBron era.
