Pitt (5-2, 2-2 ACC) will face its toughest test of the season Saturday when the Panthers take on Miami (6-0, 4-0 ACC), the No. 1 team in the country.

Pitt is coming off a 27-21 loss to Boston College, its second straight defeat, despite jumping out to a 12-0 first-quarter lead. Freshman quarterback Corey Dailey threw a 75-yard touchdown pass to Cataurus Hicks on the first play of his first career start, and the Panthers added a blocked punt that resulted in a safety. However, Boston College rallied to take a 14-12 halftime lead and held on for the win.

Miami managed to keep its perfect record intact with a double-overtime win over Florida State.
