KUALA LUMPUR: A video showing Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir having a stern word with Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim amid the state's constitutional crisis has gone viral.
In the clip, taken after Friday prayers at a mosque in Negri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz is heard telling Ismail that he does not want to see him.
The ruler is also heard expressing his dissatisfaction with Ismail and former state executive council members over a letter to the Keeper of the Rulers' Seal stating that he was no longer the state ruler.
Ismail is seen acknowledging Tuanku Muhriz and paying homage to the ruler.
The New Straits Times has reached out to Ismail for comment.
In a separate video, Tuanku Muhriz is seen refusing to shake Ismail's hand upon arriving at a mosque.
On Sept 13, Ismail said that an April 19 proclamation by the former Undangs removing Tuanku Muhriz as Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan had been approved by the state administration.
He said the decision was unanimously endorsed by all members of the state executive council at its meeting.
The Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) later said the menteri besar and state executive council did not have the unilateral power to remove the ruler or declare the position vacant.
It said the validity and legal effect of the April 19 proclamation must be determined through the constitutional and legal process under the Negri Sembilan Constitution.
A week later, Tuanku Muhriz revoked the appointments of all 10 state executive councillors.
Earlier today, Tuanku Muhriz conferred the state's prestigious honours on three Undangs and their consorts at Istana Besar Seri Menanti here yesterday.
The three Undangs, Datuk Klana Petra Muhammad Faris Johari of Luak Sungei Ujong, Datuk Mendika Menteri Akhirulzaman Datuk Azrin Khairi of Luak Jelebu and Datuk Sedia Raja Hassan Ab Hamid of Luak Rembau, were conferred the Darjah Tertinggi Negeri Sembilan (DTNS).
