Cleveland Guardians (2-3) vs. Tampa Bay Rays (3-2), 8:08 pm, FOX
Shawn Armstrong vs. RHP Freddy Peralta
The Rays can clinch their spot in the World Series with a win tonight. Cleveland briefly took a 2-1 lead in the series, but the Rays won the next two to come within one game of the pennant. They’ll look to punch their ticket with a victory in front of the home crowd.
Tampa will send out right-handed starter Freddy Peralta. Peralta blanked the Guardians over six innings in a Game 2 victory. The Guardians will turn to the bullpen for all nine frames tonight with our old pal Shawn Armstrong taking the ball first. Guardians manager Stephen Vogt said that starter Gavin Williams was “not an option.”
Both teams have won a game 7-3, but the winning team scored only three runs in the other three matchups. Will either offense be able to get things going with an AL Championship on the line?
