KUALA LUMPUR: Genting Malaysia Bhd and Alibaba Cloud (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore using artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing across the former's operations.
The agreement provides a framework for both parties to assess potential applications in employee productivity, operational efficiency and guest experience.
No specific projects or implementation timelines were disclosed.
Genting Malaysia deputy chief executive and executive director Datuk Indera Lim Keong Hui said the agreement will allow the group to evaluate potential applications before considering wider adoption.
"As a business with diverse operations, we see opportunities to evaluate how AI and cloud technologies can help our teams work more effectively and enhance the experiences we offer our guests," he said.
The MoU builds on an earlier collaboration involving Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park, where both parties explored the use of AI and cloud technology to support guest experience.
Alibaba Cloud Malaysia general manager Choong Hon Keat said the companies would assess further applications across Genting Malaysia's business functions, building on the earlier collaboration.
The agreement was signed at Alibaba Group's headquarters in Hangzhou, China.
The latest agreement does not commit either party to a specific deployment.
Both companies will assess potential use cases and their suitability for Genting Malaysia's operations before deciding whether to proceed with wider implementation.
