Ripple Prime now offers institutional clients weekend exposure to stocks, gold, oil and currencies through swaps linked to more than 100 markets. HSBC says limited trading depth could restrict adoption, even as firms seek ways to manage market risks outside traditional exchange hours.
The brokerage launched the service on October 15, with trading firm Virtu among its first users. Clients can hold positions when major stock and commodity exchanges close, although those periods may bring sharper pricing risks.
Ripple Prime Opens Access to Round-the-Clock Markets
Ripple Prime, formerly Hidden Road, offers swaps that follow price movements without requiring clients to own the underlying assets. The contracts cover shares, commodities, and currencies.
Its new products track perpetual futures from Trade.xyz, a platform on the Hyperliquid crypto derivatives exchange. Unlike standard futures, perpetual contracts carry no fixed expiration date.
As a result, a fund can take a gold position on Sunday instead of waiting for conventional markets to reopen. The same structure supports exposure to other markets.
Ripple Prime handles collateral and risk management across clients' positions. It also accepts Ripple's dollar-pegged RLUSD stablecoin as collateral, linking the trading service with the company's digital asset infrastructure.
Ripple connected its brokerage to Hyperliquid in February. The latest launch extends that relationship to a broader range of assets under its prime brokerage offering.
The company offers the swaps through its British Virgin Islands license and plans to expand into other jurisdictions. Ripple has named Virtu as a user but has not disclosed trading volumes.

HSBC Warns Weekend Liquidity Could Limit Demand
HSBC digital assets research head Daragh Maher called the launch an “evolutionary, not revolutionary” step in a Monday client note shared with CoinDesk.
Maher said the market is growing quickly but remains small compared with the conventional markets that its contracts follow. He sees deeper liquidity as essential for broader institutional demand. Broader trading access does not ensure deep order books, particularly when the exchanges that set reference prices shut for the weekend.
For now, HSBC expects much of the activity to come from market makers, proprietary firms and hedge funds pursuing price gaps. Such basis trades exploit differences between related markets.
By contrast, a fund seeking to hedge a multimillion-dollar position needs willing counterparties at workable prices. Thin trading can make entry and exit harder, particularly while underlying exchanges remain closed.
Saturday's chip-stock selloff showed that risk. Liquidations closed nearly USD 52 million in leveraged positions within 10 minutes as selling spread from Binance to Hyperliquid.
The underlying shares did not trade during that period, leaving the derivatives without fresh stock prices for reference. This separation can complicate pricing when weekend volatility rises.
HSBC said the service must compete through lower costs, simpler execution and more efficient collateral use. Ripple already earns fees financing leveraged equity positions, a market banks have traditionally dominated.
XRP Price Rebounds as Analyst Watches USD 1.65
Separately, XRP climbed about 2.5% over 24 hours and moved back above USD 1.33. Analyst CasiTrades identified USD 1.65 as the level needed to confirm a corrective bottom. Her daily chart showed a rebound from USD 1.25 to USD 1.26, near the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement at USD 1.2588. That range formed a key support area.
XRP then recovered above USD 1.304, the chart's 11.8% retracement, and traded near USD 1.334 when she published the analysis.
Further resistance appeared at USD 1.3525, USD 1.4125, and USD 1.461. Higher zones stood near USD 1.53, USD 1.576 to USD 1.606, and USD 1.6365.
CasiTrades argued that rallies within the correction do not alone establish a lasting bottom. In her framework, a move above USD 1.65 would clear upper resistance and strengthen confirmation.
Conclusion
Ripple Prime has expanded weekend access to stock, commodity, and currency swaps, with Virtu among its initial users. HSBC expects trading depth to determine whether larger institutional hedgers participate. A sharp chip-stock liquidation exposed pricing risks outside regular hours, while XRP traders continued watching resistance toward USD 1.65.
