The Memphis Grizzlies revealed their first injury report ahead of the 2026-27 season ahead of their Oct. 21 game against the Utah Jazz (7 p.m. CT, DAZN-MEM).
Center Isaiah Stewart was the only player listed on the injury report. He's doubtful to play against the Jazz at FedExForum due to a left ankle sprain.
Stewart suffered the ankle sprain in the first quarter of an Oct. 5 preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks. He was seen during the media viewing portion of practice on Oct. 19 getting individual work and attempting hook shots around the rim.
"He's doing well," Grizzlies coach Tuomas Iisalo said. "He's progressing right on the timetable. He's exactly where we expected him to be. He's in very good spirits. Very positive."
The Grizzlies acquired Stewart in a trade this offseason after he spent five seasons with the Detroit Pistons. Stewart has spoken openly about wanting to help Memphis create a culture that is reminiscent of the old Grizzlies defensive-minded teams .
Zach Edey is expected to start at center. If Stewart is unable to go, center Quinten Post will serve as Edey's primary backup.
