Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV) and the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Tirupati Centre, have entered into a collaboration on Monday to promote digital learning and industry oriented skill development .
NIELIT is an autonomous scientific society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.
As part of the collaboration, two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between SPMVV and NIELIT to enhance technical competencies, and expand skill-development opportunities for students. The MoUs aim to facilitate the effective utilisation of the NIELIT Digital University platform and industry-oriented skill-development training programmes.
SPMVV Vice-Chancellor Prof. Uma Vennam and NIELIT Tirupati Centre Director Sasi Kumar Gera discussed strategies for integrating emerging technologies and industry-relevant skills into the university’s academic and training ecosystem. They focused on leveraging MeitY initiatives, promoting practical and tech-oriented learning, bridging gap between academy and industry.
The collaboration is expected to open new avenues for students to access digital learning resources, specialised technical training, and emerging technology skill-development programmes. It also reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to fostering stronger academia–industry linkages and enhancing students’ employability through quality, industry-aligned education and training.
Through this partnership, SPMVV and NIELIT aim to empower students with industry-ready and future-ready skills, contributing to the broader national vision of digital empowerment, technology-driven education, and a skilled workforce.
