Hull City claimed a 2-2 draw at home to Everton in a real mixed bag of the game.
Many of the players who did something positive offset it with errors too.
Konstantinos Tzolakis – outstanding this season, but his handling was not its usual reassuring self, and he was fortunate Brennan Johnson found the net from an offside position 6
Lewie Coyle – that Jack Grealish had so little impact is a tick in the box for a player who is constantly questioned 7
Semi Ajayi – on his heels for Thierno Barry's goal, but the fault lay more with the pass to him 6
John Egan – some important interceptions 7
Nobel Mendy – not at his best, losing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for Everton's first goal and missing a good chance with a header at 0-0 6
Ryan Giles – some good moments in the first half but Johnson started the second period well up against him 6
Joe Gelhardt – some very loose moments in possession but an important goal to put his team in front 7
Matt Crooks – an early booking made his substitution inevitably, hard to imagine he can keep holding off his midfield competition much longer 5
Regan Slater – plenty of energy as always but Sergej Jakirovic felt he needed something else in the final stages 6
Sorba Thomas – like Gelhardt, his was a real mixed bag of a performance; a beautiful ball to set up the opening goal, an awful one to assist Everton's second 6
Oli McBurnie – booked in the first half but it did not deter him from keeping up his usual scrapping, lovely nutmeg in the build-up to the goal even if he did need some help for it to come to something 7
Substitutes:
Elliot Stroud (for Giles, 64) – probably his best performance from the Tigers at left wing-back as opposed to higher up the field, and he made it count with an assist for Mohamed Belloumi, one ill-advised dribble was his only black mark 7
Tim Iroegbunam (for Crooks, 64) – did nothing to make David Moyes think Everton would not have been better off keeping him this summer 5
Mohamed Belloumi (for Gelhardt, 64) – not considered fit enough to start after his international exertions but when he came on he made it count 7
Hidemasa Morita (for Slater, 75) – some moments of quality he now needs to build on 6
Robinio Vaz (for Thomas, 86) – N/A
Not used: Phillips, McNair, Norton-Cuffy, Herrington.
