On the second night of this season's NBA action, all eyes were on the post-LeBron JamesLos Angeles Lakers. With The King out of the picture, it was expected that Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves would carry the offensive load, with new acquisition Walker Kessler playing a major role.
That's exactly what transpired against the Golden State Warriors, as all three players scored 23+ points and were the main contributors in the Lakers' 127-105 win over the Warriors. Doncic, of course, is truly the main guy. He led the team in scoring while pitching in with eight rebounds and seven assists. As the face of the franchise, he was the designated player to speak during the postgame interview.
Luka Doncic takes the mic and signals a new era for the Lakers
Luka Doncic remains the No. 1 guy for the Los Angeles Lakers following LeBron James' departure
That interview ended up going viral on social media, thanks to ESPN's Malika Andrews. The famous NBA journalist has garnered a strong following in the basketball community due to her in-depth knowledge of the sport combined with her good looks and humor. While interviewing Doncic, fans noticed the player looked a little bit flustered by Andrews' presence.
Some fans believe Doncic got "stuck" and froze up while being interviewed. They're trying to cook up a romance for the newly single Doncic, who ended his engagement to Anamaria Goltes in March of this year. There's only one problem with the fans' theory: Andrews is married to Dave McMenamin, a top-notch NBA reporter for ESPN who has covered the Lakers for many years.
Doncic will have to look elsewhere for a new romance, but ending his engagement earlier this year hasn't seemed to affect his on-court performance in any way - which is great news for the Lakers.
