A documentary celebrating 30 years of Mykonos’ legendary Cavo Paradiso nightclub will make its US premiere in Astoria, New York, on October 14, followed by a director Q&A and a special DJ after-party.
The New York Greek Film Expo 2026 will present Cavo Paradiso Mykonos: 30 Years of History, a documentary exploring the rise of one of Greece’s most internationally recognised electronic music venues.

The screening will take place at 7pm on Wednesday, October 14, at Melrose Ballroom in Astoria, bringing the story of the iconic Mykonos nightclub to Greek-American audiences.
Set against the backdrop of Mykonos’ internationally renowned nightlife, the film traces Cavo Paradiso’s journey from its early beginnings to its emergence as a destination for leading DJs and electronic music fans from around the world.
For three decades, the venue has helped establish Mykonos as a major name on the international electronic music circuit, attracting performers whose careers span house, techno and commercial dance music.
Three Decades of Music and Mykonos History
Directed by Andonis Theocharis Kioukas and written by Stathis Lazarides, the 2025 documentary explores the people, performances and defining moments behind Cavo Paradiso’s evolution.
Through recollections from the club’s founders, promoters and internationally acclaimed DJs, the film examines how the venue developed into a global nightlife destination while remaining closely connected to the character and appeal of Mykonos.
Its featured personalities include Nikos Daktylides and Margarita Antonini, alongside internationally recognised DJs David Morales, Steve Angello, Benny Benassi, Alesso, Nina Kraviz, Deborah De Luca, DJ Snake, Afrojack, Steve Aoki, Sebastian Ingrosso and Armin van Buuren.
Running for 55 minutes, the documentary is presented in Greek with English subtitles, making it accessible to audiences across the Greek diaspora and the wider American public.
Director Q&A and Greek-American DJ After-Party
The New York premiere will offer more than a film screening.
Following the documentary, audiences will have the opportunity to take part in a question-and-answer session with director Andonis Theocharis Kioukas, providing an opportunity to hear more about the making of the film and the history behind the celebrated venue.
The evening will conclude with a special after-party featuring guest DJ Odysseus “DJ Ody Roc” Delasoudas.
With the screening, discussion and after-party taking place at the same venue, the event combines Greek cinema with the music culture that has helped make Mykonos famous internationally.
New York Greek Film Expo Celebrates Greek Cinema
The screening forms part of the New York Greek Film Expo 2026, organised by Hellenic Film Society USA.
