The crash happened on Devine Road near Frank Kenney Road, killing the driver of the vehicle that was not towing a load. A 79-year-old man succumbed to his injuries at the scene, police said. The driver of the other vehicle did not sustain injuries.
The man’s death was the city’s 32nd traffic-related fatality of 2026, and the second to occur that evening.
In Barrhaven just a couple of hours earlier Oct. 21, a 71-year-old woman on foot died of her injuries after being struck by a vehicle near Cambrian and Greenbank Roads.
Police are looking for witnesses to that crash, too.
Police asked any witnesses who haven’t spoken with investigators to contact the OPS Fatal Collision Investigation Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 2345.
