The Asian Tour's season-ending golf tournament, which was to be held in Saudi Arabia, has been postponed indefinitely because of the war in the Middle East.
The Asian Tour and the tournament's organizing committee said in a joint statement on the 16th, Korea time, that they were postponing the Saudi International, the season finale that had been scheduled to run for four days from Nov. 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. No new date was announced.
The tournament was co-sanctioned with the DP World Tour from 2019 to 2021 and has been backed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) since 2022.
Saudi Arabia has faced mounting instability in recent weeks, with airports and energy facilities destroyed in attacks by Yemen's Houthi rebels. Sporting events across the Middle East have been disrupted, including the Six Kings Slam tennis event, which was scheduled for late this month and has been pushed back to December.
