A big result is on the cards for Frank Lampard's Coventry City, after the Premier League returnees doubled their lead against Newcastle.
If data is truly the lone metric in how football results would be decided, then Matthias Jaissle's Magpies would be well on their way to three points away from Tyneside. Instead, the Sky Blues look destined for a massive win at CBS Arena.
Newcastle's dominance by the numbers has meant little throughout, with a converted penalty from Jack Rudoni gifting the home side an unexpected one-goal lead early doors.
Unable to get back in the fight on the scoresheet, Coventry would go on to strike a second hammer blow three minutes after the restart, with 19-year-old Sidiki Cherif dispatching a low drive into the bottom corner beyond an outstretched Lukás Hornícek.
It's the first goal for Cherif in what was the Premier League start of the 2026/27 season for the Guinean youngster since his loan arrival from Turkish giants Fenerbahçe.
Now scoring goals at home after breaking their 25-year goalscoring drought on home turf, can Lampard see out a massive result to lift Coventry three points clear of the drop zone?
Sven Botman's sensational hit with 20 minutes remaining may now put them under pressure to see things out.
