Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson faces a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge in Indiana.
Per court records filed this week and obtained by Fox 59, Richardson was stopped by police in Carmel on October 12 for driving a car with an expired registration that belonged to a different vehicle. Officers reported smelling marijuana in the vehicle and that Richardson told them he had smoked in the car to avoid doing so in front of his children. A search of the vehicle found a jar containing marijuana as well as gummies that tested positive for THC.
“We are aware of the situation involving Anthony Richardson and are currently gathering additional information. We will have no further comment at this time,” the Colts said in a statement.
Court records show that a bench trial on the matter has been scheduled for January 4.
