Bangladeshi photographer Pinu Rahman received recognition in two categories at the Siena Awards 2026 in Italy. His image "The Golden Burden" won the People category at the Creative Photo Awards 2026, earning the Pangea Prize. A second photograph, "Bad Morning in a Burned Valley", was Highly Commended in the Documentary and Photojournalism category of the Siena International Photo Awards (SIPA).
The prize-giving ceremony was held on 10 October at the Teatro dei Rinnovati in Siena. According to the organisers, this year's three competitions drew more than 40,000 entries from 163 countries. The 12th edition comprises SIPA, the Creative Photo Awards and the Drone Photo Awards, with the festival running from 10 October to 29 November across Siena and nearby venues.
Winning images will be shown at the main exhibition, "People Sharing All the World", and featured in the bilingual photobook series "Beyond the Lens". Italian photographer Stefano Rosselli was named SIPA Photographer of the Year for "Amina", taken in Afghanistan.
Rahman has worked in photography since 2012, focusing on people, society, travel and documentary subjects. He was earlier named Bangladesh's National Winner at the Sony World Photography Awards 2026.
