Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitová has returned to the tennis court less than seven months after giving birth to twins. The 36-year-old Czech played at the Ladies Tennis Masters in Luxembourg, losing to Belgium’s Yanina Wickmayer in a close match lasting almost two hours, 7-6, 5-7, 6-10.
Kvitová, a former world number two, ended her professional career after the US Open last year, following an earlier return from maternity leave. She and her husband, coach Jiří Vaněk, welcomed twin daughters, Emma and Ella, in late March, joining their son Petr.
