With the Buffalo Bills entering the bye week with a win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, 33-30, the team is hoping that some players can use the time to fully heal from injuries. As the Bills have been dealing with injuries to key players, head coach Joe Brady would have a crucial injury update on wide receiver DJ Moore and defensive lineman Ed Oliver.
According to Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News, Brady would say to the media that both Moore and Oliver were “close” to playing in the aforementioned Raiders win. However, with the bye week approaching, the feeling was that they would ‘play it safe’ with the two players.
“‘I’d like to think that they were close,” Joe Brady says of DJ Moore and Ed Oliver. Brady added that the bye week factored into playing it safe with both of them, with the hope they’ll be close to fully healthy and ready for Week 8,” Skurski wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Moore had missed his second straight game for Buffalo as he continues to deal with a nagging shoulder injury that he sustained in the team’s Week 2 win over the Detroit Lions. As for Oliver, he missed the contest with the Raiders with a knee injury, and he has also missed his second straight game.
At any rate, it remains to be seen how Moore and Oliver progress ahead of the Bills’ next game, which is on November 1 against the Baltimore Ravens. But first, Buffalo will look to utilize the bye week to their advantage as the team is at 5-1
