The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency, or KOCCA, said on the 21st that they supported Korean broadcasting and animation companies in expanding overseas by operating a Korean pavilion and showcases at MIPCOM 2026, held in Cannes, France, from the 12th to the 15th.
MIPCOM, now in its 42nd year, is the world's largest market for broadcast and video content, drawing about 10,100 industry participants from more than 100 countries. KOCCA supported the participation of 33 Korean companies, which held 872 meetings with overseas buyers and logged export negotiations worth $267.75 million, or about 364.4 billion won.

33 Korean Firms Take Part, Securing Exports and Co-Production Deals
Eighteen companies took part in the broadcasting category and 15 in animation. KBS Media, CJ ENM and MBC ran standalone booths, while animation firms including Sunwoo & Company, The Pinkfong Company and Loi Visual also explored business opportunities with overseas buyers.
CJ ENM exported the entertainment format "Couple Palace" to Swedish broadcaster TV4. It also agreed to supply four titles — "True Beauty," "Another Miss Oh," "Goblin" and "The Week Before I Die" — to Colombian streaming platform Ditu. The company signed a long-term partnership with the Middle East's MBC Group and plans to open a dedicated Tving section on the streaming service MBC SHAHID, supplying about 30 K-content titles in 2026.
ELTV and Another Story signed memorandums of understanding for brand cooperation and joint production, respectively, on the second season of "Chefs of the Temple Kitchen." Pixtrand agreed with Lebanon's Union Media to pursue a purchase contract for the animation "Akung Dakung Adventure School."

Broadcasting and Animation Showcases Target Global Buyers
KOCCA held an animation IP showcase on the 12th and a K-content and format showcase on the 13th to introduce Korean titles to overseas buyers.
The animation showcase featured Studio Animal's "Hurricane Princess," Story Farm's "City of the Dead Wizard," Pixtrand's "Virus No. N," Sunwoo & Company's "Twinkle Twinkle Moon" season three and Dream Factory Studio's "Kabion Evolution." About 100 people attended, including executives from global media companies, and a total of 154 business matches were made.
The broadcasting showcase introduced six titles: Space Rabbit's "Yut War," CJ ENM's "Sync Game," KBS Media's "The Logic," MBC's "TXT's Parenting Diary," Just IP's "Family Plan" and SLL Joongang's "Esquire: Lawyers Who Dream of Becoming Lawyers." About 220 overseas broadcasters and media industry officials attended, holding follow-up meetings and discussing prospects for content distribution and format sales.
"At this MIPCOM, we promoted the competitiveness of Korean content and explored new business opportunities such as exports and co-productions," KOCCA President Kim Yun-ji said. "We will strengthen support for overseas expansion so that outstanding K-content leads to actual contracts and distribution results."
KOCCA also plans to operate a Korean pavilion at the Asia TV Forum, or ATF, to be held in Singapore in December.
