Trump’s Microphones

Trump is alone, photographed from below (presumably by a crouching photographer, though I never see one on the ground) so as to appear more monumental. More often than not, his arms are half-raised at his sides and his palms are up, like he’s fending off the press, rhetorically, with his habitual “Who, me?” gesture. He is encircled by a panoply of black shapes jutting in, which evokes cartoon compositions where the main character is overwhelmingly surrounded, by knives, or the Feds, or meddling kids.
