South Africa is mourning the loss of a young talent after comedian and content creator Khadziyane Ndivhuwo, popularly known as Skeem Mafenya, was fatally stabbed in Limpopo. The 20-year-old, who had built a following through his comedy and online content, was found dead in the early hours of Saturday, 17 October 2026.
According to IOL, officers responded to reports of a person lying motionless inside a yard in Malamulele B2 Extension. A community member had been woken up by a knock at the door at around 3:35 am and, upon looking through a window, spotted a man bleeding heavily and immediately called for help. Emergency Medical Services arrived at the scene, but Ndivhuwo was pronounced dead before he could receive treatment. He had sustained multiple stab wounds to his upper body.
Police open murder case
Police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba reportedly confirmed that a murder case had been opened. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and no arrests have been made at this stage. Authorities are currently working to identify and apprehend those responsible.
Limpopo provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Jan Petrus Scheepers strongly condemned the killing, expressing both his distress and his commitment to finding justice for the young creator.
"We will mobilise all necessary resources to ensure that those responsible for this senseless killing are brought to justice. The murder of a young life with so much potential is deeply disturbing, and we will not rest until the perpetrators are behind bars."

Ndivhuwo's death has left his community reeling. He was widely recognised for bringing laughter through his comedy and content, and those who knew him have been shocked by the circumstances of his death.
Police have urged anyone with information that could assist the ongoing investigation to come forward and contact their nearest police station.
