Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has claimed that a political party chief is deeply upset over not receiving a governorship or a share in governor’s rule. He made the remarks during an informal conversation with journalists in Lahore. Naqvi did not identify the politician.

Naqvi alleged that the unnamed leader had relied on the establishment for political support for decades. He also claimed that some politicians previously depended on the establishment to arrange airline tickets for their party. He argued that such figures should avoid criticising others without presenting facts and evidence.
The interior minister said political disagreements were natural, but leaders should avoid abusive language and unsubstantiated accusations. He called for political debate based on arguments and facts rather than personal attacks. His remarks came amid tensions surrounding political developments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Naqvi also questioned political leaders who have recently raised concerns about the distribution of resources to former Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). He asked why they had remained silent when those districts allegedly did not receive their rightful share in previous years. He said residents’ rights and resources should remain above political interests.

Addressing the security situation, Naqvi said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa faced serious challenges. He urged political leaders to support efforts to restore peace and eliminate terrorism instead of increasing political confrontation. According to the minister, the province needs stability and collective action to address its security concerns. His comments emphasised cooperation among political stakeholders, although he did not name the leader at the centre of his allegations.
