Rocky's Latest PUMAs Are Faded Like a Pair of Jeans

First introduced in 1968 as a timeless hardwood classic and later adopted by the pioneers of 1980s hip-hop and skate culture, the Puma Suede remains one of the most culturally bulletproof sneakers in history. Teaming up with A$AP Rocky, the German sportswear brand reimagines an archival classic with the A$AP Rocky x PUMA Suede 94 Blue.

A$AP Rocky has been rolling out PUMA collaborations for several seasons now, consistently nailing the brief by reworking archive styles with a touch of flair but always keeping them wearable.

While many celeb crossovers look to novelty design cues that might be fun, but often make the shoe hard to style or, occasionally, totally unwearable, Rocky continues a legacy of considered design with the latest PUMA Suede 94.

Since 2023, A$AP Rocky has acted as the Creative Director of PUMA’s partnership with Formula 1, but seemingly is still finding the time to try his hand at more lifestyle-oriented kicks like the iconic PUMA Suede.

In keeping with his recent signature style, Rocky stays true to the faded, pre-worn aesthetic. A few months back, he dropped a similarly worn-in rendition of the PUMA Suede but takes things up a notch this time. 

Opting for a blue finish, the suede upper has a distinctive hairy texture that feeds into the rich palette. Perfectly faded indigo coloring extends from the logo throughout the upper, contrasting with a super-clean white midsole and vintage-leaning gum outsole. Bold detailing comes in the form of a chunky gold dubrae to round out the design.
