eToro has unveiled new connectors for ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and Grok Bot, allowing users to link their investment accounts to AI assistants and analyze their portfolios without requiring API keys, coding skills or complex technical setup.
The connectors, built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), enable investors to access information about their actual holdings, positions, account balances and investment performance through the AI tools they already use.
According to eToro’s latest Retail Investor Beat, 56% of retail investors either already use or are willing to use AI tools such as ChatGPT and AI agents to help select or adjust their investments.
The integration is designed to move AI-assisted investing beyond general market research by allowing users to ask questions about their own portfolios. Investors can use the assistants to examine their holdings and performance, helping them combine personal judgment with AI-generated analysis.
“Every few years, technology changes the way people invest. Social investing connected people to each other. Mobile put the markets in their pocket. Today it’s AI, and the place people now think and plan is with their AI assistant, so that’s where their portfolio needs to be. For many years this industry gave people access. The next phase is intelligence: investors combining their own judgment with AI. It’s not the investor or the AI, it’s both, with the investor always in control.” said Yoni Assia, Co-founder and CEO, eToro.
Users can select read-only access for research and analysis or read-and-act permissions where supported. Any proposed action requires the investor’s review and approval before it can proceed. Deposits and withdrawals remain within eToro’s platform rather than being handled through AI chat interfaces, while users can pause or disconnect the integration whenever they choose.
The company is also encouraging new users to start with basic account queries and test their workflows using a demo account before applying them to live investing.
Guy Barkat, Director of API Partnerships at eToro, said the connectors reflect the growing role of AI assistants in everyday activities, including research, planning and information management.
“AI assistants are becoming part of everyday life. They help people plan, research, summarise information and get things done. Investing is moving into that same space. Connectors bring portfolio context into the AI tools people already use, while keeping the investor in control. It is an important step towards an agentic trading experience built around clear boundaries, transparency and approval.” Added Guy Barkat, Director, API Partnerships.
The eToro connector is available through the directories of selected AI platforms, with additional listings expected. Users on supported platforms can find the connector, link their accounts and sign in through a short setup process. Investors using other compatible platforms can also configure the connection manually by adding a custom connector.
Through the integration, eToro is seeking to bring portfolio analysis into the AI environments investors already use while maintaining approval requirements and keeping control of investment decisions in the hands of the account holder.
