Grieving Kaia Gerber braves the public eye on solo LA outing just weeks after brother Presley's tragic death at 27

Kaia Gerber put on a brave face as she stepped out in public solo on Thursday afternoon just weeks after her brother Presley Gerber's tragic death.

The model, 25, appeared stoic as she ran errands in Los Angeles in a casual outfit and with a Fendi purse over one shoulder.

Kaia notably wore sunglasses over her eyes for the entirety of her outing, while her brunette hair was swept up in a claw clip.

On the same day, her mother Cindy Crawford surfaced at Presley's LA home before driving to Kaia's residence to check on her grieving daughter.

Presley, a successful model and the only son of Cindy and husband Rande Gerber, died of a suspected overdose at the age of 27 on September 20 while staying at a luxury rehab facility in Santa Monica, California.

Presley had checked into the Santa Monica-based facility Resolutions Living the day before he was discovered dead.

Presley had been open about his decade-long struggle with drug addiction and mental health problems in the years before his death.

Weeks before losing her brother, Kaia opened up about the enormous toll Presley's struggles had taken on their famous family.

'When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone,' she told Vogue.

Kaia was extremely close to her older brother, with a source recently telling the Daily Mail that his death had left her disheveled in grief.

Kaia has not had it easy in her 25 years, but she will hang in there; she is a very strong person,' the Daily Mail's source shared.

The model, according to insiders, had been holed up at home with her boyfriend, actor Lewis Pullman, by her side, barely eating and in total shock since learning her brother died.

'She was in total shock so it was a big emotional process just to come to the realization that she would never see her brother again,' a source close to the family has told the Daily Mail, saying Kaia is 'still struggling.'

On Sunday, she was spotted leaving the gym, an attempt at inching back to normalcy at the urging of her mother.

'She had a little cocoon there with friends stopping by. She tried her best to hold it together, but she was not eating much,' the insider added.

'She had no appetite, which is hard for her as she has said in the past she suffers from "disordered eating,"' the source continued, referencing the model's August Vogue interview in which she discussed her 'disordered eating' after entering the spotlight.

'She also has not cut her hair or done her nails, and she has been in sweats the whole time. Her mom has encouraged her to keep a routine going to help deal with grief. That is why Kaia went to the gym.'

In addition to Pullman, The Shards actress has also leaned on friends and family for support, including the likes of actress Laura Dern and influencer Jake Shane.

'Cindy and Rande have really been there for Kaia, as has George [Clooney],' the source said. 'They are bending over backwards to make sure she is OK.'
