In a powerful display of togetherness two of WA’s most talented cheerleading groups will take to the Telethon stage with all-abilites athletes for the very first time this weekend.
Cosmic Empire Allstars and West Coast Fury have joined forces to form a brand-new, unified powerhouse — the CosmicFury team.
Ranging in age from five to 35, the high-energy squad has been training relentlessly to showcase their dazzling dance routines, explosive enthusiasm and unbreakable bonds to the entire state.
For 11-year-old Charlee Hosking — who captured WA’s heart as a 2024 Little Telethon Star — returning to the big stage alongside her cheer squad is a dream come true.
“I love it like a lot,” Charlee, who suffered a brain tumour at just two-year-old, said.
“I love the friendships I make, the music, and how my coaches make it so inclusive for everyone.”
Known around the gym as a “little ray of sunshine,” Charlee regularly brings homemade cupcakes to practice to share with her teammates.

Her mother, Sharnee Hosking, said watching Telethon was a core childhood memory growing up in WA, but seeing her daughter perform on the broadcast takes it to a whole new level.
“Blake and I are looking forward to seeing Charlee and her team perform,” Sharnee said.
“She is so incredibly proud to be able to perform and entertain for Telethon and WA.
“Telethon is an organisation that is very close to our hearts... without their support, many children and families would be without vital resources.”

West Coast Fury coach Jenn Warhurst said the opportunity to perform live on television is about far more than five minutes of fame.
“For our athletes, this is so much more than a performance,” Ms Warhurst said.
“It’s an opportunity to be seen, celebrated, and included on such a special stage. I’ve always believed that inclusion isn’t about everyone doing the same thing, it’s about giving everyone the opportunity to belong, contribute, and succeed in their own way.
“At the end of the day, they’re not just athletes with disabilities. They’re cheerleaders, teammates, and friends who work incredibly hard, and they deserve every bit of the spotlight.”
The atmosphere inside the gym ahead of the big weekend has been electric.
Between stunt rehearsals, team member Kristy has been busy bedazzling sunglasses and crafting handmade friendship bracelets for the entire squad.
Zoe Skoda, owner of Cosmic Empire Allstars, said neither gym hesitated for a second when the chance to collaborate arose.
“What we’ve created together is something really special,” Ms Skoda said.
“Every athlete brings enthusiasm, determination, and genuine encouragement to the floor.
“We wanted to demonstrate that inclusion isn’t just something we talk about... we want the broader community to see our all-abilities athletes for who they are, talented, determined, strong and empowered individuals who have so much to contribute.”
As the countdown to the Telethon broadcast ticks away, one thing is certain — when CosmicFury steps onto the stage on Sunday morning, all of WA will be cheering with them.
