- The story resurfaced following the reported death of Wicknell Chivayo in a helicopter crash near Marondera, Zimbabwe, in September 2026
A past sermon by Prophet Uebert Angel has resurfaced, in which the wealthy charismatic preacher described receiving a physical gift of gold from G6, the younger brother of late Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo.

Speaking to his congregation, Angel recounted a phone call from G6, whose real name is Joacham Chivayo, after a service in which the prophet had mentioned something in passing.
"My brother G6 called me and said, 'Prophet, you had a service where you mentioned something.' I was like, 'You cannot do better than that. You did an introspection of yourself,'" Angel said.
He continued:
"He told me, 'When you arrive, please come to me.' When I got there, there was gold, from here to there. It was written, 'It is I, Prophet Angel.' That is why I came late; I had to collect the gold."
The prophet was quick to frame the moment as one of spiritual acknowledgement rather than personal pride.
"This is not boasting. There is a period when you should acknowledge things. I acknowledged that God made me rich and that He made me a prophet," he said.
Who is G6 Chivayo?
G6 spent years trying to get his foot in the door with his elder brother before finally joining his team in 2012, reportedly starting out by collecting dog food.
Over time, he moved from employee to business partner and described Wicknell as his greatest teacher, crediting him with lessons in both ambition and resilience, including "how to lose money and still express gratitude."
G6 has also been associated with prominent figures, among them Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
The relationship between Angel and the Chivayo family ran far deeper than that of a congregation leader and his flock.
Angel previously described Wicknell as a brother and an uncle to his children, while Wicknell reportedly gifted Angel a customised 2026 Rolls-Royce Ghost for his 47th birthday, alongside other luxury vehicles for Angel and his wife, Beverly.
The warm ties took a sorrowful turn on September 30, 2026, when Wicknell, his wife Lucy Muteke, her personal aide, and two pilots were reportedly killed in a private helicopter crash near Marondera, Zimbabwe.
The reported tragedy sent shockwaves through Zimbabwe, particularly given claims that Angel had urged his followers to pray for Chivayo in the days leading up to the crash.

What did Prophet Angel say after Chivayo's death?
In a Facebook tribute, Angel remembered Wicknell as someone who understood that real wealth was measured by the lives one touched rather than the money accumulated.
Angel's son, Uebert Angel Jnr, known as The Seer, reportedly visited G6 and the Chivayo family to offer his condolences in the aftermath.
Following Wicknell's burial, G6 publicly defended his brother's business dealings amid scrutiny, insisting that his enterprises were legitimate.
