A new season of swishin’ and dishin’ is upon us as the New York Knicks prepare to defend their 2025-26 NBA Championship.
This season’s squad is similar to New York’s championship team. Sadly, we’ll have to get used to seeing big man Mitchell Robinson in Celtics green, but the Knicks signed Andre Drummond and James Wiseman to fill those back-up minutes.
The road to a repeat begins with an opening night matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers. It was a pretty uneventful offseason for the 76ers, well, except for trading for Boston’s Jaylen Brown and signing one of the greatest NBA players in the history of the game: Anfernee Simons.
Kidding. Although I do like Simons.
Yes, LeBron James is now a member of the 76ers, and the Eastern Conference is deeper than ever. The reigning NBA champions will be playing a ton of nationally televised games, with New York starting their title defense with games on NBC/Peacock and Prime Video.
How can you watch local Knicks games during the season? How can you stream NBA games on Peacock and Prime Video? Here’s everything you need to know.
New York Knicks Basketball Schedule:
- Tuesday, October 20: Philadelphia 76ers @ New York Knicks (7:00 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock)
- Friday, October 23: New York Knicks @ Boston Celtics (7:00 p.m. ET on Prime Video)
- Sunday, October 25: Orlando Magic @ New York Knicks (7:00 p.m. ET on MSG/DAZN)
How To Watch Tonight’s Knicks-76ers Game Live on NBC:
If you have a valid cable login, you can watch NBA games airing on NBC on the network’s website/app. Already cut the cord? No problem!
The only way to watch shows airing live without cable is by using a live TV streaming service. Our favorite is DIRECTV, which comes with a five-day free trial before payment begins.
DIRECTV offers a number of flexible subscription options, including Genre Packs, so you can best choose which streaming plans fit your needs and budget. Packs start at $19.99/month.
You can also watch NBC live with an active subscription to fuboTV, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, or Sling TV. YouTube TV, fuboTV, and Hulu + Live TV offer free trials for new subscribers.
Knicks vs. 76ers on Peacock Live Stream Options:
The Knicks home opener will also stream live on Peacock.
Peacock currently offers two subscription types: Premium with ads and Premium Plus ad-free. Peacock Premium costs $12.99/month, while Premium Plus costs $19.99/month.
You can save a bit by subscribing to one of Peacock’s annual plans, which give you 12 months for the price of 10. These cost either $129.99 with ads or $199.99 without ads.
Peacock Premium Plus is also available to subscribe to via Prime Video with a seven-day free trial that you can’t get by subscribing directly on Peacock.
Does Peacock Offer a Student Discount?
Yes! Students can get Peacock Premium for $6.99/month for 12 months. Verification is required, and you can cancel anytime.
Does Peacock Offer a Free Trial?
Peacock doesn’t directly offer a free trial, but thankfully, you can sample the streamer through Prime Video. Amazon offers a seven-day free trial of Peacock Premium Plus, which renews at $199.99/year until canceled.
You can also score a free subscription to Peacock through Instacart+, which offers a free trial. Finally, if you’re a DIRECTV subscriber, you can also get two months of Peacock Premium by adding the Movies Extra Pack.
How To Watch Knicks Basketball on DAZN:
All non-nationally televised Knicks games will air on MSG Network and DAZN. If your pay TV subscription offers MSG Network (or YES Network), you’ll be able to access Knicks basketball on DAZN at no additional cost.
You can continue to stream any team on MSG+ on DAZN for free with an eligible cable subscription. If you don’t have a cable login and are looking to stream Knicks basketball live or on-demand on MSG+, DAZN offers a number of options.
You can stream every local Knicks, Rangers, Islanders, and Devils game via the MSG+ plan ($19.99/month for the first month, $29.99/month after or $249.99/yearly), or you can add Yes Network (Yankees and Nets) for the Gotham Bundle ($29.99/month for the first month, $34.99/month after).
MSG+ also offers single game passes for $9.99.
Does DAZN Offer a Free Trial?
Nope. DAZN isn’t currently offering a free trial.
How To Watch The New York Knicks vs. Boston Celtics on Friday, October 23:
The Knicks/Celticks game will stream exclusively on Prime Video.
If you aren’t a Prime Video subscriber yet, you can get started with a 30-day Amazon Prime free trial, including Prime perks like the Prime Video streaming service, free two-day shipping, exclusive deals, and more. After the free trial, Amazon Prime costs $14.99/month or $139/year.
All 18- to 24-year-olds, regardless of student status, are eligible for a discounted Prime for Young Adults membership as well, with age verification. After a six-month free trial, you’ll pay 50% off the standard Prime monthly price of $14.99/month — just $7.49/month — for up to six years and get all the perks.
A new season of Knicks basketball begins Tuesday, October 20 at 7:00 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
