Every year, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show comes with its fans and its critics. As with all runways, the annual spectacle invites conversation surrounding the looks, the music, the design, and the performances. For the most part, these dialogues are between fellow watchers... but today, Gigi Hadid joined the chat.
On Threads, the model responded to a critique of Swedish model Elsa Hosk’s walk, telling the user that they “have no clue” what it’s like to walk with the Victoria’s Secret wings on.
The post included a video of Hosk strutting down the runway in massive gold wings, spanning the width of the stage. The user, in a judgment of the model’s walk, compared it to that of the OG angels from the late 1990s and early aughts, writing, “Imagine Giselle (sic) walking down the runway like this.” (Gisele Bündchen, along with the likes of Tyra Banks, Helena Christensen, Adriana Lima, Heidi Klum, Candice Swanepoel, and Alessandra Ambrosio, helped defined the golden age of VS).
